This sensitive documentary portrait of a father and son unfolds against the backdrop of the vast transformation that continues to take place in China. It follows a troubled relationship between Zuogui, the filmmaker’s grandfather, who is a fortune-teller and has been blind since the age of three, and his son Donggu (Wei’s father), who is still reeling from the suffering meted out to him during an impoverished childhood, but who now works as an ambitious property developer.
