1. When to book

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Tuesday 16 September. 

You can book tickets from 10am on the following days if you’re a BFI Member:

  • BFI Patrons - Monday 8 September
  • BFI Members - Tuesday 9 September

Get last minute tickets during the festival

Online

Check the LFF homepage after 10am each day during the festival to see newly released tickets for screening and events, subject to availability.

In-person for BFI Southbank and Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall

Join the standby queue at BFI Southbank 30 minutes before the screening as tickets are released 15 minutes before.

In-person at other London venues

Try the standby queue 15 minutes before start time.

2. How to book

The best way to buy tickets is online. You need to be logged in to see prices and on-sale dates.

Buy tickets in person

You can go to BFI Southbank and buy tickets in person:

  • from 10am to 8.30pm on on-sale dates
  • 11am to 8.30pm on all other days before and during the festival

3. Ticket prices

Tickets start from £10 (£6 for 25 and Under) across all London screenings and events.

BFI 25 and Under

If you have a BFI 25 and Under account, you can get £6 tickets to all events and screenings, subject to availability. Join for free today.

We also have concession prices available.

Gala ticket prices

All our red-carpet Gala premieres are screened at he Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. There are different prices for different Gala screenings:

  • Gala premieres: £21 to £30
  • Opening and Closing Night Gala premieres: £40
  • Repeat weekday matinees (and Opening Night Gala repeat matinee) (Monday to Friday, before 5pm): £16
  • Repeat weekend matinees (Saturday and Sunday, before 12pm): £18

Special Presentation premieres

Special Presentations tickets range from £16 to £21:

  • Premiere screenings: £21
  • Repeat weekday matinees (Monday to Friday, before 5pm): £16
  • Repeat weekend matinees (Saturday and Sunday, before 12pm): £18

Surprise Film

The Surprise Film screens at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall and costs £21.

Family strand screenings

Tickets in the Family strand cost £10 for adults and £6 for children.

Relaxed screenings

Relaxed screenings are always £6.

London cinemas

Ticket prices for screenings at BFI Southbank, BFI IMAX, Curzon Mayfair, Curzon Soho, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Prince Charles Cinema and Vue West End are:

  • Weekday matinees (Monday to Friday, before 5pm): £13
  • Weekend matinees (Saturday and Sunday, before 12pm) and evening screenings: £18

Immersive installations

NOWISWHENWEARE (the stars) at Rambert Studio

  • £13 standard
  • £10 BFI Members during 3-7 October previews
  • £9 weekday matinee (before 5pm)
  • £8 concessions
  • £6 BFI 25 and Under

VR Lounge at BFI Southbank Atrium

  • £10 standard
  • £8 weekday matinee (Monday to Friday, before 5pm)
  • £6 BFI 25 and Under

Screen Talk tickets cost £21.

LFF for Free events

These events are free and open to all (there are age restrictions for some).

Book from 10am on Thursday 2 October.

Tickets do not guarantee entry: entry is on a first come, first served basis. You can only book two tickets per person.

Concessions

You can get concession tickets for screenings:

  • at many London screenings and immersive installations
  • on weekdays (Monday to Friday before 5pm): £10
  • on weekends (any time before midday): £12

There are no concessions for Southbank Centre screenings, Screen Talks or VR Lounge.

Concessions are available for:

  • seniors (people aged 60 and over)
  • anyone on Universal or pension credits
  • unwaged or anyone on unemployment benefit
  • students (with a valid student ID card)
  • disabled visitors

If you receive Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Jobseeker’s Allowance

We offer £6 on-the-day tickets, subject to availability.

Sign up in person at the BFI Box Office before you book and bring two documents to confirm your eligibility. After signing up, you can log in and book £6 tickets online on the day.

4. Exchanges, refunds and resales

There are no exchanges or refunds of any kind for all customers.

Tickets may not be resold for higher than 20% above the face value displayed, and any such action may result in cancellation of the original booking by the BFI.

Maximum of two tickets per film per customer or four tickets per family film (maximum three children per adult) until Tuesday 16 September.
