Introduction

Equally at home in cutting-edge drama and comedy as she is big-budget blockbusters, Tessa Thompson is often the trump card in the cast of any film. In a diverse body of work that spans the small and large screen across the last two decades, she has proven equally adept at comedy as she has the high stakes of drama, and as at home in the past and future as she is at channelling contemporary characters trapped in the mire of their predicaments. From regular appearances in Veronica Mars and Westworld, and scene-stealing roles in Thor: Ragnarok and Sorry to Bother You, to her stunning, BAFTA-nominated turn in Passing, playful collaborations with Janelle Monae and now taking on Ibsen with Hedda, Thompson will discuss her wide-ranging career.
