Introduction

Charlie Ahearn’s Wild Style is widely regarded as the first hip-hop film, capturing the early days of graffiti, breakdancing, DJing and MCing in New York City’s vibrant underground scene. Celebrating the sounds that defined the era, DJ Terry Hooligan turns up the volume on the tracks that lit up block parties and shaped hip-hop’s golden age, including classic ’80s party jams from The Sugarhill Gang, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious Five, Funky 4 + 1, Kurtis Blow, Kool Moe Dee, Fab 5 Freddy and more.
