Introduction

Cinema is the place where all kinds of emotions are felt – heartstrings are tugged, fears exposed and the exuberance of joy at a happy ending. They are a place of communal experience, first dates and strong reactions. They are embedded within our personal and collective memories. That’s why people hate to see cinemas torn down. Silver Screens: Spectacular cinemas from Hollywood to Hong Kong is author and critic Jane Crowther’s celebration of movie houses and drive-ins from around the world. She will join us to discuss the global pleasure of the medium.

Hosted by Hope Hopkinson, podcaster, curator, and Marketing Manager at Picturehouse Cinemas.
