Introduction

2024 saw the shuttering of Total Film, one of the UK’s longest-running and most beloved film magazines. With existential threats looming around every corner – from diminished advertising budgets to the rise of AI – how are magazines surviving and adapting in 2025 and beyond? This panel brings together the editors behind the UK’s crop of film specialist magazines to share insights into the current publishing landscape and how they are inspiring current and future generations of readers to delve deeper into film.
