Introduction

Whether it’s a hero on a revenge quest, an epic journey through dangerous terrain or a battle against overwhelming odds, action and adventure films thrive on momentum and spectacle. From globe-trotting adventures, martial arts epics and military action to survival stories and post-apocalyptic quests, we’ll look at the common ingredients that drive these stories: lone-wolf protagonists, ticking clocks, impossible missions, last-second rescues and relentless villains. Join us as we decode the genre’s lasting appeal and its power to transport us into worlds of danger, daring, and determination.

Hosted by Ti Singh, Producer of the BFI FAN season Art of Action.
