Introduction

Join Justin Chang for an in-depth discussion about the working life of a film critic – from finding your voice across print and broadcast media to landing some of the most coveted bylines in journalism and to the simple pleasures of conjuring a well-crafted pun. Justin Chang is a film critic for The New Yorker and NPR’s Fresh Air. For eight years he was a critic at the LA Times, for which he received a Pulitzer Prize. Before that he served as chief film critic at Variety. He is chair of the National Society of Film Critics, secretary of the Los Angeles Film Critics Association and a member of the New York Film Festival selection committee.

Hosted by Guy Lodge, Observer film columnist and the chief UK film critic for Variety.
