Introduction

In Dupieux’s (Deerskin, Smoking Causes Coughing) free-associative farce about the perils of interviewing geniuses, Anaïs Demoustier plays a journalist pursuing an exclusive with an ever-more mercurial Salvador Dalí – impersonated with flamboyant hilarity by several actors, including Gilles Lellouche, Jonathan Cohen and Edouard Baer. Peppered with outrageous sight gags, Daaaaaali! pays irreverent homage to a legend, while slyly channelling the spirit of Luis Buñuel.
