Introduction

Cary Grant is jail-breaker Dilg, imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. He holes up with Jean Arthur and Ronald Colman, but the town’s pitchfork-wielding mob is hot on his heels. Moving from noir to screwball, the film juggles its shifting tones brilliantly.
