Introduction

Cary Grant is jail-breaker Dilg, imprisoned for a crime he didn’t commit. He holes up with Jean Arthur and Ronald Colman, but the town’s pitchfork-wielding mob is hot on his heels. Moving from noir to screwball, the film juggles its shifting tones brilliantly. And it’s packed with unexpected delights – from a pivotal borscht recipe to a blossoming bromance between Grant and Colman.
