Garth studied at the Royal College of Music and travels the world as a member of prestigious ensembles and quartets, composes with theatre and dance, teaches, and records award-winning albums. This year he has composed a new score for the restored BFI silent classic The Informer (Dir Arthur Robison/UK 1929), a tale of divided loyalties filmed and edited in stunning German expressionist style.
We welcome Garth to share how he approaches composition for different media, and to focus on his score for on The Informer including the detailed breakdown of a scene. The event will be chaired, and the audience is encouraged to ask questions throughout!
