Film Books in the Age of Wikipedia

Today, readers can find an endless wellspring of information, stills and clips relating to any film or filmmaker, and a listicle for every mood, at the simple touch of a button. And yet, film books are as prevalent as ever, tackling genres ranging from romcoms and '80s action heroes to the work of filmmakers such as Sofia Coppola, Baz Luhrmann and Hayao Miyazaki. How have the writers behind these books kept such well-trodden ground fresh and fertile?
