Access information

The main BFI Southbank foyer and Box Office entrance is on Theatre Avenue, towards the Royal National Theatre at street level. There are stairs, and a wheelchair accessible lift to gain access to the main foyer.

There is a help point phone in the foyer to call for staff if required.

Visitors using the Hayward Gallery car park may find it easier to use lower foyer entrance facing the Royal Festival Hall. There are lifts from this area to the main foyer, Box Office and NFT1.

Tickets may be purchased from the Box Office located in the main foyer.

There is a wheelchair accessible lift, and steps with handrails lead up to the NFT1 foyer and The Riverfront. Please ask for assistance if you require escorting through an alternative route.

Access to NFT2 from the Box Office is via the lift or stairs.

Access into NFT3 is via the main foyer Box Office area. There are stairs and a lift to the rear of the auditorium. Wheelchair users should ask at the Box Office counter for assistance, as the route, though flat, is not marked as a standard entryway.

The Studio, BFI Reuben Library and Mediatheque are all accessed via the main foyer and Box Office area. Both café bar areas are fully accessible.

Disabled parking

There is disabled parking available in the Hayward Gallery car park, located between the Southbank Centre and BFI Southbank.

This car park is open between 7 AM and 1 AM daily and will be subject to a fee.

For any queries, please contact Apcoa on 020 7620 0397 or email southbank@apcoa.com. This service is not controlled by the BFI.

Wheelchair spaces in the cinema

In NFT1 there are six wheelchair spaces four at the rear and 2 at the front
In NFT2 there are four wheelchair spaces at the front of the cinema
NFT3 has three spaces at the front of the cinema
The Studio has two wheelchair spaces.

To avoid disappointment we recommend that wheelchair seats are booked in advance. This will help us to allocate adjoining seating for any companions, if required. We will make every effort to accommodate customers who have not made a prior booking. If you wish to take your seat unassisted, wheelchairs or scooters maybe stored in the foyer. If you require any further information please ask to speak to the manager on duty.

Guide dogs

We welcome guide dogs at BFI Southbank and can accommodate them in the cinemas. Please book in advance so that we can allocate the most appropriate seating. We are able to provide drinking water for your dog and would be happy to look after your dog during the screening.

Assisted hearing facilities

Three screens have induction loop facilities and the Box Office has a minicom number 020 7620 2025. We occasionally have palantype and soft type screenings.

Toilets

There are four toilets adapted for wheelchair use. These are situated in:

The foyer of NFT1 next to benugo
The main foyer next to the Mediatheque
The corridor opposite the Blue Room
The ground floor corridor next to the lift (this requires a RADAR key – please ask a staff member if you are not a RADAR key holder).

Parents, carers and guardians

All public areas are accessible by lift for those using pushchairs and prams. Baby changing facilities are available. For some screenings we are able to provide storage for buggies and prams during performances.
