Introduction

Unearthed from MiniDV tapes filmed during Aljafari’s 2001 visit to Gaza – his first time behind the camera – the film traces his search for a former prison-mate. Guided by Hasan, a local tour guide whose fate remains uncertain, the footage captures a land and its people suspended between the past and a ruptured present – their everyday lives now irreversibly changed.
