Introduction

This handsomely shot, Beirut-set drama traces the reunion of two former schoolmates whose romance began during the war-torn 1980s and is rekindled a decade later. Mounia Akl (Costa Brava, Lebanon) and Hasan Akil deliver magnetic performances, their chemistry anchoring a richly textured script. Unfolding against Lebanon’s recent history, Aris (Dancing on the Edge of a Volcano) presents a compelling portrait of love at its most intimate and expansive.
