Introduction
Join Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, the founder of the Film Heritage Foundation, as he discusses the three-year journey of restoring the epic Indian blockbuster Sholay, which was voted Film of the Millennium in a BBC India online poll, and named the greatest Indian film in a British Film Institute poll.
He’ll also share firsthand the story behind the restoration of Gehenu Lamai (The Girls), the landmark Sri Lankan portrait of girlhood. It was the acclaimed debut of Sumitra Peries, the Poetess of Sri Lankan Cinema, which was recognised as the Outstanding Film of the Year at the 1978 London Film Festival.
