Creators of the Ghibliotheque podcast Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham present this Christmas-themed gem from Japanese animation maestro, Satoshi Kon. Inspired by the western story 3 Godfathers, Kon reimagines the tale on the grubby streets of Tokyo, with a trio of unhoused people finding a lost baby on Christmas Eve, prompting a crosstown caper as they try to track down the newborn’s family and reflect on their place in the world.

This special screening will be introduced by Michael Leader and Jake Cunningham, co-hosts of the podcast Ghibliotheque and co-authors of The Animation Atlas, which explores the history of world animation via key films and filmmakers from 30 countries. Following the screening, Jake and Michael will be selling and signing copies of The Animation Atlas and their previous books, Ghibliotheque: The Unofficial Guide to the Movies of Studio Ghibli and The Ghibliotheque Anime Movie Guide.
