Walt Disney had always seen Fantasia as an evolving project, but it took 60 years before a sequel was finally released. With The Sorcerer’s Apprentice linking the two, Fantasia 2000 presents a number of classical pieces accompanied by a variety of traditional and experimental animation styles. It includes Elgar’s Pomp and Circumstance with Donald Duck and his animal-laden ark, and Beethoven’s 5th Symphony accompanying a series of spellbinding abstract images.
