In silent-era Hollywood, stuntman Roy Walker (Lee Pace) is brought to a hospital after an on-set accident leaves him paralysed. There, he befriends a young girl called Alexandria (Catinca Untaru) and starts telling her a fantastical tale of epic heroes trying to take revenge on an evil ruler - whilst secretly planning his own suicide. He captivates her with this whimsical story that removes her far from the hospital doldrums into the exotic landscapes of her imagination.
Filmed over 24 countries without a completed script and heavily improvised, this film is more than unique with a breathtaking and stunning visual style and has developed a worldwide fanbase. This specially restored 4K director’s cut, with additional scenes, will only be available for this one-off screening on the UK’s largest screen.
We are delighted to announce that director Tarsem Singh will be joining us for a special introduction to the screening.
