As if in real time, Apollo 11 places you at the heart of NASA’s Mission Control on 16th June 1969 and the historic launch of the spaceship that would send Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin to take man’s first steps on the moon. Made up of previously unseen footage, found amongst 11,000 hours of uncatalogued audio and reams of original film from NASA’s archive, this is a stunning achievement in film that captures an extraordinary moment in history. Journey back in time and go behind the scenes with the men and women behind the launch, stand amongst the crowd who gathered on Florida’s shores to watch it and wait with baited breath as Neil Armstrong announces those momentous first words as he steps out into the unknown.
This is a schools screening open to all school and community groups and home educators.
