Stephen Beresford talks Pride

Get a behind-the-scenes look at the much-awaited gay pride comedy, starring Bill Nighy.

Writer Stephen Beresford in conversation with Brian Robinson on writing the screenplay for one of the year’s most eagerly anticipated films. Due for international release this summer, Pride is a bittersweet comedy based on the extraordinary true story of how a group of gay activists came together in 1984 to support the striking miners. The film is directed by Tony-winner Matthew Warchus (Matilda: The Musical) and boasts a terrific ensemble cast including Bill Nighy, Imelda Staunton, Dominic West, Andrew Scott and Paddy Considine. Find out how this fascinating piece of gay history has been turned into a heart-warming, uplifting and very funny film. With thanks to Pathé, BBC Films, the BFI Film Fund, Proud Films and Calamity Films.
