Pride is a stand-out British film of the year and one of our favourite LGBT films in a long time. This wonderfully written comedy manages to draw laughter and tears in equal measure from its incredible true story: the creation of the campaigning group Lesbians and Gays Support the Miners, and their encounter with the inhabitants of a Welsh mining village. The stunning ensemble cast features a remarkable performance by Ben Schnetzer as Mark Ashton, ably supported by Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, Billy Nighy, Freddie Fox and many more. With a wonderfully evocative soundtrack and great attention to authentic period detail, this is a feel-good history lesson like no other. We hope to welcome some of the real-life characters for the Q&A on Sat 28.
The screenings on 21 and 28 March will have audio description. The introduction and Q&A on 28 March will be BSL interpreted.
