Passe ton bac d’abord
Pialat’s tender and droll look at teenagers becoming adults in provincial France.
Dir Maurice Pialat
With Sabine Haudepin, Philippe Marlaud, Annick Alane
Made quickly and cheaply when another project fell through, this perceptive and generous look at how provincial teenagers cope with life after school is one of Pialat’s most intimate and fluent films. It was mostly made with non-actors chosen on location (the same mining town used in L’Enfance nue), and the script was constantly revised to follow the teens’ own stories and dreams.
