Goodbye, Dragon Inn is a bittersweet ode to the joy of sitting in a dark cinema and the sense of loss of filmgoing as a communal activity. An ageing auditorium is screening King Hu’s ‘Dragon Inn’ to an eclectic audience of tourist and gossipers, the remaining creaking staff, and some rumoured ghosts before it shuts its doors forever. A beautiful and witty reminder of why we love going to the movies, and why we’ve missed them this last year.
The screening on Wed 26 May will be introduced by director Peter Strickland.
