Grands soirs & petits matins
William Klein's roving camera catches all the action from May 1968.
Dir William Klein
William Klein was in the middle of the action in May 1968 – and he had his camera. This collage of his footage vividly captures events as they happened, showing how spirited debates in the Sorbonne spiraled out into street protest. Klein’s handheld camera helps us feel the urgent energy, the confusion and contradictions that characterised the heady climate of revolution. Prepare to be transported.
The screening on Tuesday 8 May will be followed by a Q&A with director William Klein.
