The Academy Award-nominated director of acclaimed documentaries Cartel Land and City of Ghosts, Matthew Heineman now tackles the story of Marie Colvin, one of the most celebrated war correspondents of our time. Her boldness and fierce reputation preceded her, but A Private War looks into the internal toll that the weight of the trauma she reported on bore on her and her relationship with war photographer Paul Conroy (Dornan). The film, anchored by Rosamund Pike's career-best performance as Colvin, honours the fearless journalist whilst taking a sober look at the drive and sacrifices required from journalists on the front line of conflict.
