The Quay Brothers moved from short-form animation to live-action feature with this surreal tale about a young man who becomes a student at an unusual school for servants run by a brother and sister. Beautifully shot in black and white, this is a puzzling, dark, non-traditional tale that still contains many of the Brothers’ hallmark tropes despite its lack of stop-motion.
