An Altitude Films Release
In the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, one year from now, Anne’s imaginary friend Kitty comes to life. She is invisible within the house but once she leaves she can be seen and heard just like anyone else. While Kitty searches in vain for Anne, we visit the Frank family in the 1940s, remaining prisoners in a secret annexe as the Germans occupy their beloved city. Ari Folman was given special access to Anne’s diary and other archive materials. The result is an innovative animated film that allows today’s audience to discover the relevance of Anne’s story, which has echoes in the experience of modern refugees. Essential viewing.
