Based on the graphic novel by Raymond Briggs, the story follows James and Hilda Bloggs, an elderly couple who vow to carry on in spite of a nuclear attack in the 1980s. As they follow the advice in the government-issued Protect and Survive leaflet, it becomes clear that all is not going well. Combining 2D and stop-motion animation, this beautiful, at times comically touching, film persuasively makes the case against nuclear arms.

BFI dual-format (Blu-ray & DVD) edition will be available from Monday 22 January.
