One of Hitchcock’s finest achievements is undoubtedly this psychological thriller, featuring a mesmerising score by Bernard Herrmann which perfectly captures the suspense, sense of obsession and twists and turns throughout. James Stewart plays an ex-policeman in San Francisco hired to follow a friend’s wife on her trips around the city. Before long, he finds himself captivated by her looks and in serious trouble.
