In what Tarr has called his final feature, a farmer and his daughter strive to get by, dependent on an ailing horse to pull the cart that provides their livelihood. Strikingly shot in monochrome by Fred Kelemen, the film takes on an apocalyptic dimension right from the opening scene; the harsh climate on the plains evokes rather more than the death of a horse or a farm.

The screening on Wednesday 27 September 17:45 will be introduced by Geoff Andrew, Programmer-at-large.
