BFI Members

Gift Aid

Our tickets include an optional 10% donation which supports the charitable work we do, and also enables us to claim Gift Aid on the full value of your ticket. Thank you for supporting film forever.

Booking fees

£1 per ticket for telephone and online bookings (maximum fee is £3 per booking).

25 and under

£3 tickets to all films are available 45 minutes before the advertised start time for customers aged 25 and under.

Standby tickets

A limited number of seats are available for sale 30 minutes before each performance. Tickets may be limited to two per visitor.

Latecomers may be admitted up to 10 minutes after the screening has started but may be asked to take alternative seats. Standing is not permitted in any of the screens. Photography, audio and film recording are not permitted. For your own safety we may carry out bag searches.

Refund & Exchange policy

All tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable for non-members. BFI members may exchange tickets or receive credit if BFI Southbank Box Office is notified at least 24 hours prior to the relevant performance and the tickets have not already been issued. No refunds or exchanges are given of any kind for any BFI Festival.

Movie and a Meal

House rules

Information about start times, safety in the venue and the use of cameras in the cinema.

  • Screenings will start at the advertised times.
  • Latecomers may be admitted up to 10 minutes after the screening has started. If you are late, you may be asked to take alternative seats to minimise disturbance or be refused admission.
  • Photography, audio and film recording are not permitted in the venue without prior permission.
  • From time to time events are filmed / audio recorded. By entering the auditorium you are consenting to such filming / audio recording and its subsequent use by the BFI and trusted third parties. Please contact the Front of House manager if you have any concerns.
  • For the safety of our staff and visitors, bag searches may be carried out.
  • Standing is not allowed in any of the cinemas.
  • You are welcome to take food and drink purchased at BFI Southbank into the cinemas with you.
  • Please be considerate of your fellow patrons and acknowledge that we are an inclusive venue and some customers may experience cinema differently to you.
  • Please do not eat or drink in the library or Mediatheque.
  • The BFI reserves the right to change the programme without prior notice.
  • All staff and public are entitled to expect that they will be treated with dignity and respect.
  • The BFI reserves the right to refuse admission or remove any person acting in an unacceptable manner.
