One dark and stormy night, a group of strangers take refuge in a remote house. Soon after, everything goes to hell in a handbasket. One of the most popular of all the notorious films to be programmed at the Scala, this rite of cinematic passage was known for its extreme sexual content. It also posed a challenge for audiences because of its near-incomprehensible soundtrack, on a black and white print that was played until it fell apart. Thankfully, that’s not the case with the copy screening here.
