Ennio Morricone

The Thing

John Carpenter’s terrifying – and supremely gory – horror classic about a creature from another world.

A parasitic extra-terrestrial force is on the rampage in an Antarctic research base; it is able to assimilate people and other creatures. Not knowing who is hosting this ‘thing’ and horrified at the destruction it can wreak, the researchers fall prey to paranoia and suspicion. Much of Morricone’s score was unused due to Carpenter’s preference for his own synth-based music, but both work well in this horror classic.
