Renesha, a Black corporate executive, and Evan, a white tattoo artist, swiftly fall for each other. In the aftermath of a horrifying event, their loving relationship becomes the lens through which larger and systemic forces are also spoken to. Ford’s exploration is grounded in a realism that challenges viewers’ ideas around love, ownership and autonomy.
