Partly inspired by Apichatpong’s physician parents, this characteristically enigmatic but elegant film centres on two pairs of doctors, the first at a hospital in rural Thailand, the second at a Bangkok medical centre several decades later. Though there is little in the way of conventional narrative, there is a vivid, poetic sense of important moments remembered, and of echoed experiences and emotions.
