Soundtracking with Tim Burton
The iconic director chats to Edith Bowman and screens a surprise film.
Total runtime c180min
In 1985, following an apprenticeship at Disney animations studios, Tim Burton made his first feature, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure. This jump-started a career that gave us Beetlejuice, Batman, Edward Scissorhands and countless other classics, securing his reputation as a visionary artist with a unique imagination. In this bumper edition of Soundtracking, we’re delighted to welcome Burton to the BFI stage as he joins host Edith Bowman to talk about his work, and the relationship between film and music. Burton has also chosen a surprise film to screen after the on-stage conversation.
