A talented song-and-dance man who also excelled at physical comedy, O’Connor was born into a showbiz family. His first big film break was as Peter Stirling, the hapless human at the centre of the Francis the Talking Mule film series. But working alongside Kelly and Reynolds in this inspired musical brought out the best in him. His fantastic rendition of Make ‘em Laugh is a show-stopper as memorable and impressive as Kelly’s iconic interpretation of the title song.
