Hudson’s classic good looks and powerful physique helped make him a star, but he also had the skills to deliver a memorable performance. In an attempt to shake off his reputation as a light-comedy romantic lead, he signed on to Frankenheimer’s dark and brooding psychological horror (cited as a favourite by Bong Joon Ho). He plays Tony Wilson, a disillusioned middle-aged banker who agrees to undergo radical plastic surgery in order to change his whole life.
