UK Premiere: Schneewittchen

With the new Disney version of Snow White opening soon, join us for this alternative, profoundly sparse, anti-spectacle spectacle, beautifully shot by Sean Price Williams, in which images remain fleeting while feelings of mistrust and familial isolation pervade. Julie Christie gives voice to the evil queen, with Stacy Martin as her daughter Snow White, who struggles to reconcile herself to the shifting-sands of their unstable, dangerous world. Dillane, Jones and Zischler are as striking as expected, while Joshua Bonnetta’s evocative sound design scores the intrigue. This screening features the world premiere of the film’s single 35mm print, the only version of the film that will ever exist.
