This perfect example of producer Alexander Korda’s customary lavish production values boasts a witty screenplay that amusingly includes actual historical figures in a tale about a vigilante who rescues aristocrats from the blade of the guillotine. As the most successful adaptation of the Baroness Orczy’s famous anglophile romance, this film owes much to the perfect casting of Leslie Howard in the lead role.

Free for over-60s (booking by phone or in person only), otherwise normal matinee price.
