In a graphic exploration of intimacy, both physical and emotional, Marie takes herself on a journey of self-discovery – pushing her boundaries with erotic encounters in an attempt to understand her body and her desire. Breillat herself called this ‘not a sex movie but a movie about sex’.

Contains scenes of unsimulated sex and sexual violence that some viewers may find distressing.

The screening on Friday 6 May will be introduced by intro by Catherine Wheatley, King’s College London.
