German actor and director Leni Riefenstahl was best known for her Nazi propaganda films Triumph of the Will and Olympia. Though these films glamourised the Nazis’ rise to power, Riefenstahl spent much of her life denying having close ties to the regime, while continuing to defend her work. This definitive documentary uses archive materials from Riefenstahl’s estate – private films, photos, recordings and letters – to dissect the life and actions of this controversial figure.
