Tuesday 25 February 20:30 BFI Reuben Library

A significant influence on Sofia Coppola, Peter Weir's haunting and allusive Picnic at Hanging Rock relates the mysterious disappearance in 1900 of three schoolgirls and their teacher on a trip to a local geological formation. This salon will look at this classic of New Australian Cinema, which raises questions of gender, decolonisation and voyeurism.

Members can book a joint ticket to the salon and the screening of Picnic at Hanging Rock on Tuesday 25 February 18:20 NFT2 for themselves and their guests in advance for just £6.50.

Members who watched the film on another date are welcome to come along to the free Salon discussion and show their membership card for admission on a first come, first served basis.
