Join veteran film and TV director Peter Smith for a look at his early documentaries including Knees Up, Mother Brown, about East-End women, and Prisoners of War, about Ukrainian prisoners still behind bars long after the end of WWII. The session will also include extracts from his film and TV drama such as: Seaforth, an epic WWII-set love story and Bread or Blood set in rural 19th-century England, A Private Enterprise, a 1974 BFI Production Board drama about the UK’s post-war South Asian immigrant community; and No Surrender (see adjacent for matinee).
