When a hunter takes the loot he finds at the site of a murderous drugs exchange in the Texan desert, both the local sheriff and a ruthless hitman start looking for him. The Coens’ largely faithful adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s novel is one of their darkest movies, a corrosive, utterly compelling study of human avarice, cruelty and – here and there – saddened compassion.

The screening on Wednesday 24 November will be introduced by Geoff Andrew, Programmer-at-Large.
