Total runtime 90min

From Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to Frozen, fantasy cinema and animation seem to go hand in hand. Why does animation play such a central role in defining our expectations and experiences of popular fantasy cinema, and why do animators often use fantasy fiction as a source of inspiration? In their new collection Fantasy/Animation: Connections Between Media, Mediums and Genres (Routledge 2018), editors Christopher Holliday and Alexander Sergeant bring together a range of authors to examine the historical, cultural and theoretical relationships between fantasy and animation. Holliday and Sergeant will be joined in conversation by contributors Lilly Husbands, Caroline Ruddell and Sam Summers.
