Winning the BAFTA for best single drama in 2008, this is a fine choice to represent Shindler’s work. Tony Marchant’s hard-hitting and controversial film is based on the testimony of real soldiers, and so sensitive was the subject matter that Channel 4 delayed its transmission twice. Both Kearns and McNulty received great critical acclaim for their portrayal of young soldiers forced to choose between loyalty to their regiment and their own morals.

Joint ticket available with Nicola Shindler in Conversation, £15, concs £12 (Members pay £2 less).
