A man sent by his boss to buy up a village on the west coast of Scotland finds more than he bargained for.
Dir Bill Forsyth
With Peter Riegert, Burt Lancaster, Peter Capaldi
Mistakenly believing him to be of Scottish descent, ‘Mac’ Macintyre’s oil company boss sends him to buy up a village on the west coast of Scotland so that they can build a refinery on the site. As Mac spends more time with the locals, his affection for the area begins to grow. Scotland’s great filmmaker may have missed out on an Oscar®, but he was rewarded with a BAFTA for this touching, comic drama.
