Richard, a grieving young man, goes to great lengths to befriend his late lover’s mother, Junn, a Chinese-Cambodian woman who has never assimilated in London. Though her son was her gateway to the world outside, she remained unaware of his relationship and is initially mistrustful of Richard. However, the pair slowly forge an uneasy understanding through the pleasure and pain of communication.
